good morning early birds! just in case you missed the first announcement, the IKEA BUS is back in action! tickets go on sale today, and because it’s late and i’m punchy, this year’s event is called: Revenge of the IKEA Bus (the Squeakquel)! The magic date is SATURDAY, MAY 19th, but otherwise the rules are pretty much the same as last year: donuts, bus, snacks, movie, ikea, frolicking, bus, movie, delivery, allen wrenches, bourbon.
this year, because i like to mix things up a little, i’m giving last year’s price of $30 a ticket for 1 WEEK ONLY. if you buy a ticket after 4/24, you’ll have to pay an extra $5. i have some ideas for snacks and in-flight movies, but i definitely need to get some more suggestions going on. i’m also hoping to work out a truck situation with some sexy local movers, but i haven’t nailed that one down quite yet. either way, there will be a truck (so now is your chance to buy a couch!) and free donuts. and fun. you don’t want to miss out on the fun. so get your ticket going RIGHT NOW, and start making your wish list.

how small? like purse dog small? i’ll have to check with VIP, but as long as it is contained and not noisy, i don’t personally have a problem with it. although i don’t think you’d be allowed to take it in IKEA, so that is also a concern.
If we can leave him on the bus, except for forays out to go pee, that would be fine. He’s a dachshund beagle mix and he “rides good”, as my Mom says. We just can’t leave him alone for a whole day. Working on other options too, but thought I’d at least ask. Thanks.

I checked with VIP, and unfortunately the only animals they allow on their buses are certified service animals. So sorry!
Pro tips: Last year it started raining while we were inside the IKEA! Bring a slicker, just in case! And if you plan on buying something super heavy, bring duct tape to reinforce the boxes!
that’s why i scheduled it in may instead of april! hopefully, we can avoid the rain all together. good call on the duct tape though. i’ll grab a few rolls for the trip!
oh now this…..is tempting….. for so many reasons!
you should come! it’s so much fun, and you won’t have to tie anything to the roof or your car with that horrible IKEA twine.
